Roger’s final paintings go on show in Kent

Old High Street, Folkestone, 2021

Roger’s family is pleased to announce the opening of “Buildings of Kent”: an exhibition of his final paintings, and the launch of his new book bearing the same name.

Head to Grierson Galleries in Cranbrook from today, 17 September 2022, until 15 October to see 30 works, and for the opportunity to buy original pieces, limited edition prints, and books old and new by Roger.

This batch of paintings was made during the final 18 months of his life, while he underwent chemotherapy. Roger continued creating art with his usual steadfast determination.

Warehouses, Faversham, 2021

They capture many beautiful scenes from across the county which he called home for nearly 30 years, from Knole House to the lighthouses of Dungeness.

Characterful streetscapes, seafronts and sturdy castles are all depicted in this beautiful showcase and accompanying book, priced at just £10.00.

All artist’s profits from sales of paintings, limited edition prints and books will be donated to the charity Pancreatic Cancer UK – which provided Roger, and us, so much support.

Please note that the exhibition is open from Wednesdays to Saturdays until 15 October. For more information, please head to the Grierson Galleries website here.

With all the Coronavirus restrictions in place it looks like I’m going to be seeing a lot more of Sevenoaks over the next few weeks/months.
